Our Philosophy

Welcome to Studio Rue, a wellbeing-focussed hair studio found along the Regent’s Canal in Hackney.

We have a simple focus; to make you feel good. And that goes beyond hair. We listen, we learn and we inspire. We give you a moment of calm in the buzz of the city by creating a personalised, inclusive and relaxed space where each stylist is free to bring their own unique style to their practice, and to your session.

Bright, airy, with the canal flowing below, our studio has been thoughtfully designed to focus on wellbeing. The Bauwerk lime-wash walls provide a pure and non-toxic environment, whilst our love for natural materials, neutral colours and simple design creates an atmosphere that is both soothing and invigorating.

The Story

Natural looking, feel-good hair is what Taylor, Studio Rue’s Founder has always been about.

Honing her warm approach, her craft and an innate talent for hairdressing for over 15 years, Taylor has extensive experience in the industry working in high end salons as well as styling at London Fashion Week, The X Factor & The Brit Awards.

"I love that moment when my clients walk out the door with a big smile on their face, looking and feeling brighter.” Taylor

It was the arrival of her first born, Marnie, that sparked a desire for more freedom and flexibility around work. With no options that aligned to her values and matched the earning capability she deserves, Taylor took the leap in 2023 to open Studio Rue.

She recognised that if she wanted flexibility and freedom, others would too, creating a space for herself and other stylists and freelancers to collaborate and work in an environment that truly supports their potential.

A moment of calm in the buzz of the city.
